Prerequisites

Prerequisites for setting up the SonarQube MCP Server.

To set up the SonarQube MCP Server, you'll need the following:

  • A supported MCP client. A list of tested clients is in the Quickstart guides section.

  • One of the following:

    • A SonarQube Cloud organization. Both the EU and US region organizations are supported.

    • SonarQube Server 2025.1 or later.

      • SonarQube Server 2026.1 or later recommend for optimal performance.

    • SonarQube Community Build.

  • For self-hosted deployment: a container management tool to run the container image (for example, Docker), or JDK 21+ to run the standalone JAR.
