# Managing project tags

To manage the tags of your projects:

1. Retrieve your project. See [retrieving-projects](https://docs.sonarsource.com/sonarqube-server/user-guide/viewing-projects/retrieving-projects "mention") for more details.
2. Go to **Project Information**.
3. In the **Tags** section, select the plus sign to assign a new tag to the project. A modal appears with the list of existing tags.
4. Select the tags you want to assign from the list.
5. To create a new tag, enter it in the **Search for tags…** field, and select it in the list.
