Offline installation

On this page

Typically, offline installations start with a download of SonarQube for IDE from your IDE's Marketplace.

SonarQube for Visual Studio is available as an extension for Visual Studio versions 2022. SonarLint for Visual Studio is available for Visual Studio 2019 and 2017, but they are no longer supported.

If you don't have access to your IDE's Marketplace, the SonarQube for Visual Studio VSIX release files are available here.

Instructions

To install SonarQube for Visual Studio offline, you must first download the SonarQube for Visual Studio executable file from the Visual Studio Marketplace. Administrators can download the plugin and distribute the installer internally if needed.

  1. Go to the Visual Studio marketplace and search for sonarqube
  2. Choose the SonarQube for Visual Studio version  2022, that corresponds to your Visual Studio version. If you are using Visual Studio 2019, A SonarLint for Visual Studio 2019 is available, but is no longer supported.
  3. Select Download.
  4. Once the file is on your disk, open it to launch the installation.

The extension will be installed after all instances of Visual Studio have been closed.
