# Leaving an organization

You can leave SonarQube Cloud organizations you are not interested in anymore. There are a few cases where you won’t be able to leave an organization:

* If the organization membership is automatically managed through the identity provider.
* If you are the unique administrator of an organization, you must transfer the administrator rights before transferring. See the [Managing organization permissions](/sonarqube-cloud/administering-sonarcloud/managing-organization/users-and-permissions/organization-permissions.md) page for more information. Alternatively, you can delete your organization completely. Check the[Deleting organization](/sonarqube-cloud/administering-sonarcloud/managing-organization/creating-organization/deleting-organization.md) page for instructions.

To leave an organization:

1. Select your account menu in the top right corner of the SonarQube Cloud interface.
2. Go to **My account** > **Organizations**. The Organizations lists all of the organizations you belong to.
3. Select **Leave** on the row of the organization you want to leave.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.sonarsource.com/sonarqube-cloud/managing-your-account/leaving-organization.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
